A Chicagoan by birth- a Floridian by choice, in between I graduated from the University of Notre Dame (’68), moved from the Midwest to the Eastern US. This was done as I acquired knowledge of composites and metals while practicing business with companies like Owens Corning Fiberglass, Creative Pultrusions Inc. and others.
Learning how to walk solely on my own, I stumbled a few times before I started running, slowly at first then gaining momentum.
And in 2020, I am celebrating 30 years in business with all the great people at Environmental Composites Inc., our customers, our customers’ customers, suppliers, specifiers, government agencies, and ultimately friends. These people have made business enjoyable. And, as I have said “If business isn’t fun, it’s no fun doing business. So let’s have some fun today.”
Thank you for choosing to do business with Environmental Composites Inc. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to know you and thank you for being my friend.
Mary Boston, President
I was born in Chicago, IL and moved to the suburbs in my childhood. In 1984 I married my husband and in 1991 we moved to Florida. We have 3 children and 6 beautiful grandchildren. Although I still miss the colder weather and snow…yes I miss that white stuff….we have made wonderful friends in Florida and this has become our home.
Throughout my career, I have worked in Quality Control, Inventory/Logistics and I have operated a small business with my husband. In 1991 I joined ECI and have enjoyed contributing to its growth over the years. ECI is a unique company with solid values and very talented individuals. We maintain an atmosphere that makes coming to work each day enjoyable, we work hard and have fun. I look forward to each new day and the challenges and rewards that each day brings.
Jackie Smart, Business Operations Manager
I spent my early years growing up in Germany and came to the United States during middle school. I married my husband, of 35 years, right out of high school and we began our family. Four children later I returned to school and completed my bachelors of Science in Zoology. After working in the biology department at both UCF and Valencia Community College, I was given the opportunity to work at Mad Science of Central Florida as their only real “scientist”. In this fun and sometimes crazy environment, I discovered that I really enjoy working with others within a team and helping both children and adults in reaching their potentials.
I began a teaching career as a middle school science teacher in 1998. In 2005 we moved to Lake County and started a family farm and in 2007 I became the Parish Faith Formation Leader at our Catholic parish where I remained for 12 years.
In 2019, I was invited to join the ECI team. I am really excited about where God is leading me in this most recent adventure and I look forward to meeting new challenges.
My faith life is very important to me and I strive to do all things for the Glory of God. I enjoy hiking and exploring God’s amazing creation. In my spare time I love being with family (especially my grandchildren) and friends.
Sarah Wall, Administrative Clerk
Mississippi born; Florida raised, I grew up as an only child, which made me want at least two children of my own and that’s exactly what this journey called life gave to me. I met my husband young and being a mama met me young as well. I stayed at home with my boys for 5 years and finally got the itch to go back to work! Fast forward a few months later and I was invited to join Environmental Composites. Customer service has always been my forte so this position was a perfect fit. I look forward to coming to work every day, ECI really is my home away from home. I feel incredibly blessed to love what I do, day in and day out.
Family time is HUGE for me, both of my boys are into every sport imaginable and we spend most of our time at some type of field. You can also catch me at Target on a Saturday morning because I mean who doesn’t love Target?
Chris McAuliffe, Non-Stormwater Sales
Originally from Illinois, I studied at Lincoln College, graduating with a liberal arts degree before relocating to Central Florida. I began my career with ECI in 2002 as fabricator. I have held positions of increasing responsibility with the Sales / Project Management team. When not chasing structural fiberglass opportunities, I spend my time at the Gym, Baseball fields, and on the water.
Kevin McAuliffe, Stormwater Sales
I was born November 26, 1981 on Thanksgiving day. I have an identical twin brother, Chris. We grew up in the Chicago area, settling in Grant Park Illnois. I am a graduate of Bishop McNamara Catholic High School in Kankakee, ILL. I went to Lincoln College in Lincoln, Ill and received my associates Degree. After College I moved to Florida with my brother Chris. We both started a career here at ECI. I worked in the shop for over 10 years then was promoted into our Sales Team. I’ve been here almost 20 years. I really enjoy coming to work every day at Environmental Composites. Chet and Mary hav taught me so much in my time here that I use on a daily basis. We have a great team here at ECI. We are very Customer focused, we always take care of our customers!
I am an avid fisherman. I fish every chance I get. I fish both freshwater and saltwater. I love being on the water as much as possible. Please check out my instagram page to check out my catches: Catchingwithkev. I am also a big sports fanatic. I enjoy watching all of my Chicago teams and Notre Dame Football. I also enjoy going to watch my nephew Jack play baseball. He is a stud in the making!
I vacation In Hayward, WI every August with my family on our annual Musky fishing trip. That is where I met my beautiful wife, Sarah. We have been together since 2009 and we were married there in 2018. We also have a Boxer dog named Diva and three cats.
I send as much time with my family as I can when I’m not fishing. My grandparents and my mother moved to Florida a few years ago to be with us. They have always been a huge part of my life.
Sean Sheean, Project Manager
I was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where I started my career in steel fabrication during high school. I spent one year at Purdue University, and finished my Bachelors Degree in Anthropology at the local campus of Indiana-Purdue at Fort Wayne (IPFW). While working and living in Fort Wayne, I met my wife, and we had a son in 2001. In 2004 we moved to Portland, Oregon as a result of a promotion for my wife’s career. We lived in Portland for 13 years, where I worked as a Project Manager for company that manufactured large diameter steel pipe.
In 2017, my wife was offered a promotion with her company that landed us in Maitland, Florida. I joined the ECI team earlier this year (2020) as a Project Manager/Estimator.
When I am not here at ECI, I enjoy traveling with my family (my wife of 20 years, and our 18 year old son who is preparing for college in the fall.) I also enjoy playing golf, and Ice hockey.
Brad Dalrymple, Stormwater Orders
“Hi, this is Brad with Environmental Composites…” If we get an order for you, this is pretty much how I start every phone conversation. If you are within earshot of my office you will hear this constantly – ALL day long. I happen to have the most enjoyable job ever. My job is to make people happy. I ensure you get your order where and when you need it. The only way I can do that is with the help of our fantastic production team. They are the best.
I am originally from Ohio and moved down to Florida to help family. On June 28, 2016 I was hired in as a Stormwater Quoter. After months of training in all our different types of storm water products, I held this position for several years. I then got the opportunity to be in charge of getting our orders to our customers. It is so fun getting to know each and every contractor I speak with. I know you are dealing with so many other things going on at your jobsite(s), the last thing you want is something else to try to juggle. I do my best to take care of all that for you: remind you of delivery dates, ensure you get your product shipments on time, and any other support you may need. So next time you hear “Hi, this is Brad with Environmental Composites…” My hope is, when our conversation is done, you can say to yourself “…good, at least that is one thing I don’t have to worry about.”
Steve Smart, Stormwater Estimator/Quoter
I was born the son of a share cropper in Lexington KY in the mid 1960’s (just kidding, my dad actually worked for a bank). We moved to Orlando, FL when I was 3. I met my wife Jackie in my senior year of High School. I also joined the National Guard that same year. We were married the December after she graduated High School. We have 4 children and now 4 grandchildren.
I have held many different kinds of jobs including driving an Italian Ice Truck, Retailer, Wholesaler, Bus Driver, Bus Cleaner, & Electrician helper. In 2003 I received an all-expense paid vacation to Iraq for a year. After that I worked as a Security Analyst for 15 years. In March of 2020 I needed a change and came to ECI.
I enjoy my work but when I’m not here I enjoy working on our mini-farm (when it’s not too hot). I like to vacation near Jamestown, TN hiking and relaxing in the hot tub after.
I hold traditional Catholic Values and for about 10 years I was a volunteer Catechist at our Parish. About a year ago we started attending the Latin Mass and have really learned to love it.
Frank Hamrick, Engineering Manager
I was born and raised in central Florida and graduated high school in the mid 1980’s. After high school I joined the Navy where I made two deployments to the Mediterranean Sea. When my tour of duty was complete, I got married, moved to South Carolina and started working in the metal fabrication industry. After my first son was born I moved back the Florida but continued working in welding and metal fabrication. I have a second son who is currently serving in the United States Air Force. After I divorced I went back to college and got my degree in elementary education from UCF and briefly taught math and science before finding my place here at ECI in 2008 as a shop welder. I was remarried in 2013 and I am currently the Engineering manager and official birthday cake maker, my hobbies include, obviously, baking, cooking and making (and drinking) wine.
Charles Cagle, Engineering Assistant
I am an American, Army Disabled Veteran. I do not like long walks on the beach or any other kind of walks. I was a Master Fabricator and became an Engineering Technician for Environmental Composites. I believe that if you are not a part of the solution then you might be the problem. There is always a way to get to the objective inside the box even if you have to step out of the box and rebuild the box to make it happen. God Bless America.
Jamie Hamrick, Purchasing & Logistics
I was born and raised in a little town in Central Florida and never left. I went straight to work after High school at a food processing company. I started at the bottom and in 5 years I was managing their Aloe Vera department. I spent 10 years doing that.
I then had an opportunity to join ECI as production supervisor. From there I moved to production Manager. As the company grew my job was split in two. I chose to go in the direction that I enjoyed and would test my ability the most. So I am now the Purchasing / Logistics Coordinator.
Parker Robbins, Production Supervisor
Hi, my name is Parker Robbins and I am the Production Supervisor here at Environmental Composites, Inc. I have a background in machining, sheet metal and sStructural metals fabrication, and have been trained in the manufacture and management practices of Lean and Six Sigma. It is my goal to promote a healthy, safe and positive work environment to provide a quality product to our customers in a timely manner.
Away from work I enjoy time with family and friends. I work with the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts of America and enjoy outdoor activities such as Camping, Hiking, Kayaking, Swimming, and Recreational Diving. I am also a bit of an adrenalin junkie and can be found at any number of amusement parks repeatedly riding roller coasters or if the company is right, jumping from a perfectly good airplane. I also love to sing and have earned the nickname “Music Man” by my colleagues here at ECI.
