A Chicagoan by birth- a Floridian by choice, in between I graduated from the University of Notre Dame (’68), moved from the Midwest to the Eastern US. This was done as I acquired knowledge of composites and metals while practicing business with companies like Owens Corning Fiberglass, Creative Pultrusions Inc. and others.

Learning how to walk solely on my own, I stumbled a few times before I started running, slowly at first then gaining momentum.

And in 2020, I am celebrating 30 years in business with all the great people at Environmental Composites Inc., our customers, our customers’ customers, suppliers, specifiers, government agencies, and ultimately friends. These people have made business enjoyable. And, as I have said “If business isn’t fun, it’s no fun doing business. So let’s have some fun today.”

Mary Boston, President

I was born in Chicago, IL and moved to the suburbs in my childhood. In 1984 I married my husband and in 1991 we moved to Florida. We have 3 children and 6 beautiful grandchildren. Although I still miss the colder weather and snow…yes I miss that white stuff….we have made wonderful friends in Florida and this has become our home.

Throughout my career, I have worked in Quality Control, Inventory/Logistics and I have operated a small business with my husband. In 1991 I joined ECI and have enjoyed contributing to its growth over the years. ECI is a unique company with solid values and very talented individuals. We maintain an atmosphere that makes coming to work each day enjoyable, we work hard and have fun. I look forward to each new day and the challenges and rewards that each day brings.

Chris McAuliffe, Non-Stormwater Sales

Originally from Illinois, I studied at Lincoln College, graduating with a liberal arts degree before relocating to Central Florida. I began my career with ECI in 2002 as fabricator. I have held positions of increasing responsibility with the Sales / Project Management team. When not chasing structural fiberglass opportunities, I spend my time at the Gym, Baseball fields, and on the water.

Bernadett Navarrete, Marketing Coordinator

I was born and raised in Florida. I also spent two years in Pachuca Mexico and another two years in Orlando where I attended UCF (GO KNIGHTS!). Lake County has a special place in my heart, which why I always return. I love our beautiful lakes, trees with spanish moss, and the smell of orange blossoms. Shortly after graduating from the UCF Nicholson School of Communication and Media in 2021 I was invited to join the ECI team as the receptionist. Since then I have taken on marketing and sales . Every day I learn more about the metal and fiberglass market.

Kevin McAuliffe, Stormwater Sales

I was born November 26, 1981 on Thanksgiving day. I have an identical twin brother, Chris. We grew up in the Chicago area, settling in Grant Park Illnois. I am a graduate of Bishop McNamara Catholic High School in Kankakee, ILL. I went to Lincoln College in Lincoln, Ill and received my associates Degree. After College I moved to Florida with my brother Chris. We both started a career here at ECI. I worked in the shop for over 10 years then was promoted into our Sales Team. I’ve been here almost 20 years. I really enjoy coming to work every day at Environmental Composites. Chet and Mary hav taught me so much in my time here that I use on a daily basis. We have a great team here at ECI. We are very Customer focused, we always take care of our customers!

I am an avid fisherman. I fish every chance I get. I fish both freshwater and saltwater. I love being on the water as much as possible. I also enjoy going to watch my nephew Jack play baseball. He is a stud in the making!

I vacation In Hayward, WI every August with my family on our annual Musky fishing trip. That is where I met my beautiful wife, Sarah. We have been together since 2009 and we were married there in 2018. We also have a Boxer dog named Diva and three cats.

I send as much time with my family as I can when I’m not fishing. My grandparents and my mother moved to Florida a few years ago to be with us. They have always been a huge part of my life.

“Hi, this is Brad with Environmental Composites…” If we get an order for you, this is pretty much how I start every phone conversation. If you are within earshot of my office you will hear this constantly – ALL day long. I happen to have the most enjoyable job ever. My job is to make people happy. I ensure you get your order where and when you need it. The only way I can do that is with the help of our fantastic production team. They are the best.

I am originally from Ohio and moved down to Florida to help family. On June 28, 2016 I was hired in as a Stormwater Quoter. After months of training in all our different types of storm water products, I held this position for several years. I then got the opportunity to be in charge of getting our orders to our customers. It is so fun getting to know each and every contractor I speak with. I know you are dealing with so many other things going on at your jobsite(s), the last thing you want is something else to try to juggle. I do my best to take care of all that for you: remind you of delivery dates, ensure you get your product shipments on time, and any other support you may need. So next time you hear “Hi, this is Brad with Environmental Composites…” My hope is, when our conversation is done, you can say to yourself “…good, at least that is one thing I don’t have to worry about.”

Steve Smart, Senior Stormwater Estimator/Quoter

I was born the son of a share cropper in Lexington KY in the mid 1960’s (just kidding, my dad actually worked for a bank). We moved to Orlando, FL when I was 3. I met my wife Jackie in my senior year of High School. I also joined the National Guard that same year. We were married the December after she graduated High School. We have 4 children and now 4 grandchildren.

I have held many different kinds of jobs including driving an Italian Ice Truck, Retailer, Wholesaler, Bus Driver, Bus Cleaner, & Electrician helper. In 2003 I received an all-expense paid vacation to Iraq for a year. After that I worked as a Security Analyst for 15 years. In March of 2020 I needed a change and came to ECI.

I enjoy my work but when I’m not here I enjoy working on our mini-farm (when it’s not too hot). I like to vacation near Jamestown, TN hiking and relaxing in the hot tub after.

I hold traditional Catholic Values and for about 10 years I was a volunteer Catechist at our Parish. About a year ago we started attending the Latin Mass and have really learned to love it.

I grew up in Lake County, Florida where I attended Tavares High School. After graduation I spent a few years working in customer service before earning a Bachelor’s degree from Lake-Sumter State College. I joined the ECI team as a stormwater estimator in 2022. We have a great team at ECI and I really enjoy working at company where we can work hard but also have fun doing it.

Outside of work, I like to spend my time with friends and family, and my dog Charlie, too. We love to relax and enjoy that beautiful Florida sunshine, whether it be on the lake, at the beach, or just sitting around the fire pit at home!

Frank Hamrick, Engineering Manager

I was born and raised in central Florida and graduated high school in the mid 1980’s. After high school I joined the Navy where I made two deployments to the Mediterranean Sea. When my tour of duty was complete, I got married, moved to South Carolina and started working in the metal fabrication industry. After my first son was born I moved back the Florida but continued working in welding and metal fabrication. I have a second son who is currently serving in the United States Air Force. After I divorced I went back to college and got my degree in elementary education from UCF and briefly taught math and science before finding my place here at ECI in 2008 as a shop welder. I was remarried in 2013 and I am currently the Engineering manager and official birthday cake maker, my hobbies include, obviously, baking, cooking and making (and drinking) wine.

I was born and raised in a little town in Central Florida and never left. I went straight to work after High school at a food processing company. I started at the bottom and in 5 years I was managing their Aloe Vera department. I spent 10 years doing that.

I then had an opportunity to join ECI as production supervisor. From there I moved to production Manager. As the company grew my job was split in two. I chose to go in the direction that I enjoyed and would test my ability the most. So I am now the Purchasing / Logistics Coordinator.

Kristina Heath-Rojas, Receptionist

I was born in Chile. I moved to the states as a baby, then was raised between NorCal and Tennessee. I eventually settled in Florida and have been here since 2005. I'll be one of the first people you see or hear when you're connecting with Environmental Composites. I am happy to get you where you need to go!

When I’m not at the office, I am hangin' with 'The Guys' (my husband, son and our German shepherd), going to parks, flea markets or gaming. I love being outdoors (*not in Florida's summer) enjoying our many lakes and trails as well as gardening. I've been working on bringing into fruition my 'edible backyard'. It's a work in progress, but I am loving the process.
